Official: Ayoub Bouaddi Cleared to Play for Morocco

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation received today a ruling issued by the Players' Status Chamber of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), dated 15 May 2026, approving the request to change the sporting nationality of player Ayoub Bouaddi.
Under this ruling, Bouaddi, a player for the French club Lille, becomes officially and immediately eligible to represent the Morocco national team in various international competitions, thereby putting an end to all the controversy that had surrounded his international future in recent times.
This decision represents an important gain for Moroccan football, given the great potential the player possesses, as he is regarded as one of the most prominent rising talents in Europe, strengthening the national team's options in the upcoming challenges.
Bouaddi is expected to join the ranks of the Atlas Lions during the next camp, in preparation for taking part in the 2026 World Cup finals.
