Disciplinary committee hands Paul-Valéry Bassini a heavy sanction after the Raja–Berkane incidents

The central disciplinary committee has announced a decision suspending Senegalese player Paul-Valéry Bassini of Renaissance de Berkane for five matches, along with a fine of 300,000 dirhams, in the wake of the incidents that marked the clash between Raja Club Athletic and Renaissance de Berkane in the professional league.
The decision was based on the report of the refereeing team and the match commissioner, with the committee considering that the player's conduct warranted a strict disciplinary sanction in accordance with the regulations in force.
The decision is expected to stir reactions within football circles, at a time when the National Professional Football League continues to enforce its disciplinary measures to regulate players' conduct on the pitch.
