Nayef Aguerd's Season Over with Olympique de Marseille Due to Pubic Bone Fracture

Olympique de Marseille have received very bad news regarding their Moroccan international defender Nayef Aguerd, after his absence for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season was officially confirmed.
Aguerd has been suffering for several weeks from a lower abdominal injury (the pubis), having been diagnosed with chronic pubalgia, a complex injury that significantly affects players' performance, particularly at the highest level. Faced with the worsening of his condition, the French club's medical staff decided to have him undergo surgery, which was carried out on 12 March, in order to put a definitive end to this ordeal.
Although initial forecasts suggested he might return before the end of the season, the developments in his health and the emergence of a fracture in the pubic bone hastened the official end of his season, as he begins a lengthy rehabilitation phase that will require enough time to regain his physical fitness.
This absence is a heavy blow to the French side, especially as Aguerd had been one of the key pillars of the defence since joining the team, a player who was heavily relied upon in the race for a top position in the league.
The injury also raises serious concerns among Moroccan fans, as the player's participation in the upcoming World Cup finals is now in serious doubt, pending the outcome of his recovery over the coming months.
