Nigeria to Host the 2026 CAF Awards After Four Editions in Morocco

Nigeria is preparing to host the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards ceremony for 2026, following four consecutive editions successfully staged by Morocco.
The newspaper "The Guardian Nigeria" revealed that Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his official approval to host this major continental event, alongside hosting the 48th session of the Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football.
The CAF Awards ceremony is one of the most prominent football events on the African continent, during which the best African players, coaches, national teams and clubs are honoured, amid a notable presence of football stars and sporting decision-makers.
The return of the event to Nigeria comes as part of CAF's drive to diversify the host destinations of its major events, after the recent period that saw stability in Morocco, which successfully organised several consecutive editions according to observers.
