Talal Chaker: Wydad board's resignation is final, club will be handed over debt-free

Talal Chaker, the official spokesperson of Wydad Athletic Club, has affirmed that the board's decision to resign is final and irreversible, both at the level of the association and the sporting company. He stressed that the current president will not run for a new term, regardless of the team's results at the end of the season.
Chaker clarified that the technical committee remains the body authorized to assess and recruit players, comprising Hermach, Nadir and Benaicha. At the same time, he noted that the board chose to postpone its immediate departure due to ongoing commitments it is seeking to settle before leaving.
Regarding the general assembly, the spokesperson revealed that the president had promised to open the door to new memberships, but that new members will not be allowed to vote for the next president, pending the completion of the legal procedures in force.
Chaker stressed that the current administration places the clearing of all outstanding debts among its priorities, confirming that the next board will take over a club free of financial obligations, a move aimed at ensuring a sound start for the upcoming phase.
On the players' situation, he explained that the only issue was linked to signing bonuses, due to differing payment dates, which created some pressure within the squad, before confirming that all financial dues have been settled in full.
He also pointed out that the players are living under heavy pressure, but that the board is working to support and accompany them, considering that repeatedly raising the issue of dues sometimes amounts to an attempt to unsettle the team.
The spokesperson concluded his statement by affirming that the current board worked to establish an organizational structure within the club, even though the sporting results did not match the supporters' expectations, adding that the incoming administration will inherit administrative work that has been concretely accomplished on the ground.
