Wydad Members Escalate Against the Board and Demand Immediate Departure and Interim Committee

The members of Wydad Athletic Club issued a strongly worded statement in which they expressed their categorical rejection of what they described as the "booby-trapped resignation" announced by the board of directors, considering it an attempt to circumvent the supporters' demands and to delay any resolution until the general assembly is convened.
The statement made clear that what was presented as a resignation is nothing more than a formal step aimed at maintaining control over the club's affairs. The members pointed out that it is neither legally nor logically acceptable for a board that has announced its resignation to oversee at the same time the selection of its successor, given the obvious conflict of interest this entails and the violation of the principle of neutrality.
The members also expressed their surprise at the opening of membership registration for the 2026-2027 football season by a board they described as "outgoing," considering that this move raises doubts about an attempt to influence the electoral landscape through what they called "suspicious parachuting," with the aim of ensuring the continuation of the same management approach.
The statement also criticized the absence of a fixed date for the elective general assembly, considering that this falls within a strategy of buying time and controlling the agenda, in addition to clinging to internal procedures that they said were the cause of the current situation the club is going through.
In conclusion of their statement, the club's members put forward a series of urgent demands, foremost among them the immediate and definitive departure of the board of directors, the formation of an independent interim committee to handle day-to-day affairs, as well as the prompt announcement of an official date for the elective general assembly, while guaranteeing neutral legal oversight to ensure a transparent democratic transition within the walls of the red club.
